Fall Tips And Reminders:
-Remove hoses from outside faucets and turn the water off to them to prevent freezing.
-Replace the batteries in your thermostats to prevent a no heat condition.
-Turn up your heat and test it before it gets cold out.
-Drain and winterize any seasonal plumbing fixtures.
-Has your heating system antifreeze been changed within the last two years? If not it could be damaging your heating system.
-Make sure you don't have any dripping faucets or running toilets they can put an unnecessary strain on your well and septic.
Winter Tips And Reminders:
-Move furniture away from your base board heaters to improve heat output and efficiency. (at least a 2 1/2" space in front of baseboard)
-If you are using alternative sources of heat ie: fire place, wood or gas stove, etc... Make sure you cycle your hot water heating system periodically to prevent it from freezing.
-When the temperature outside drops (especially when it's windy) don't turn the heat below 68 to prevent freezing.
-Make sure you don't have any dripping faucets or running toilets they can put an unnecessary strain on your well and septic.
